Brunch culture in Nicosia might became mainstream recently, but it’s a tradition that’s been handed down through generations. Our grandparents, and even their grandparents, fondly referred to it as “boukoma”. We owe this word to the Latin “bucca,” which now equals to brunch. Back in the day, a simple combo of bread and halloumi was the breakfast star. But today, our brunch game has gotten an epic upgrade!
